Tongue and Groove Wall Panelling

Tongue and groove panelling (commonly referred to as shiplap panelling) features vertical long and narrow v-shaped grooves that run parallel to each other. The grooves are cut into a sheet of MDF by us to imitate wood sheets that have been fitted seamlessly together. Tongue and Groove panelling offers a clean, uniform look with a subtle, linear texture. It is commonly used to create a rustic or Victorian-style ambience, but it can also be employed in modern or transitional designs for a sleek and timeless appeal. It is a popular choice for both residential and commercial applications, providing an elegant finish to any room.

At Cut My, we offer our tongue and groove panelling in both MDF and in Moisture Resistant MDF. Both of which are manufactured and designed to fit your exact needs. The materials are also lightweight, customisable and inexpensive which makes them easy to install. Our Moisture Resistant MDF option is ideal for bathrooms and kitchens where humidity levels can be higher. It is also easier to paint than standard MDF. The nature of shiplap tongue and groove panelling allows homeowners to personalise their panelling by painting them any colour they would like to create their desired effect.

Primarily used as a decorative feature in homes, tongue and groove panelling offers various applications across different areas of the house or in the shed. Its distinguishing feature is the long and narrow v-shaped grooves that create a uniform look with a subtle linear texture. It is a cost-effective option for those who would like to create aesthetically pleasing wall decor that resonates with the latest interior design trends - perfect for your Instagram content!

What sets us apart from other suppliers, is that we offer customisation on all of our products. We provide a kit that is cut to your desired size, ensuring a precise fit for your space. This saves you the hassle of having to cut the wood sheets yourself and creates a much easier installation process. Whether you are a professional tradesman or a keen DIYer, this kit will be ideal for you to transform your home or business! As long as you have the right tools (which you can also buy from us), you will receive everything you need to install your panelling. All of our Wall Panelling Kits come with a physical installation manual with detailed instructions and illustrations.

To further simplify your project, we offer a priming option for our wood sheets. With this option, the panels arrive ready to be painted, saving you valuable time and effort. Whether you have a specific colour scheme in mind or prefer a clean white finish, our primed tongue and groove panels can be easily customised to suit your design preferences. Both types of MDF will need to be primed before painting them a colour of your choice to ensure a clean and professional finish.

Conservatory Glow-Up! V-Groove Panelling & DIY Shelf Transformation

See how @thebridgesathome transformed their conservatory with our V-Groove panelling and 18mm MDF shelf!

Their wall had peeling paint and damage, making it difficult to decorate—so they opted for our made-to-measure V-Groove panels for a seamless, stylish finish. Installed with adhesive and painted in a calming sage green, the result is a beautifully refreshed space with added texture and character.

Wainscot Cap

There are plenty of possibilities to be creative with your tongue and groove panelling. At a Custom Height, you also have the option of adding a wainscotting cap which is placed above your V Grove Panelling. We offer two types of Dado Rail, one of which is Type A is a classical moulding style. When you choose our Type B Dado Rail style, the top of your V Groove panels will be chamfered and you will then place a piece of Moisture Resistant MDF (provided) above the panelling. This will create an additional horizontal groove at the top of your panelling. We also provide the option for you to add a Picture Shelf to the top of your V-Groove Panels. This will come at the same width as your Panelling and with triangular blocks which give the shelf some extra support. This comes in two depths of 80mm and 120mm and you can use it to display your favourite home decor!

A chic and modern kitchen update that adds texture and dimension to the space.

Need some inspiration?

Bedroom

In the bedroom, wooden tongue and groove panelling could be installed at a custom height using a rail cap as a unique-looking headboard. Alternatively, it could also be installed at full height as an accent wall which gives more depth and visual interest to the space.

Entry Way

In Entry Ways, such as the porch or just inside the front door, MDF tongue and groove panelling is often installed at custom height, paired with a rail cap or with coat hooks placed above the panelling. This creates a welcoming and organised space whilst incorporating a rustic or coastal aesthetic.

Bathroom

With our moisture-resistant option, you can install your panels in the bathroom and be reassured that their durability will protect your walls. Tongue and groove panelling is a functional and stylish solution when installed at half height with a rail cap. It can also add a striking effect as a full-height accent wall in a bathroom, creating a focal point for the room, or as a shower panel.

Kitchen

Our MDF tongue and groove panelling also suits kitchens well as an accent wall. Our paintable option enables homeowners to choose the colour and style to fit their kitchen design preferences.

Hallway

For hallways, panels are typically installed at full height. Often, hallways are an overlooked space, but our shiplap tongue and groove panelling installed vertically can create an illusion of height and make the area feel more spacious.

Furniture

Beyond walls, tongue and groove panelling can also be used as a decorative element on furniture pieces such as side tables or around a fireplace to add texture and visual interest to your furnishings.

Sheds and Summer Houses

Tongue and groove panelling is not limited just to the home. Your summer house, shed or even garage could benefit from this stylish and practical wall treatment, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the space. Please remember that this product is supposed to be installed inside as it is not weather resistant.

Installing Tongue and Groove Panelling

It couldn't be simpler to install your Tongue and Groove panelling. Everything is cut to size for you so all you have to do is apply adhesive and stick to the wall. Here are some simple steps for installation, however, your order will come with a more detailed physical instruction manual to help you out!

If you have a large space to panel, you may have received multiple panels to fit together. You can lay them out on the floor to familiarise yourself with how they will be arranged on the wall.

Step 1: Prep your space

Please ensure your space has a clean, smooth, flat wall before applying your wall panels. Put your Dust Sheets on the floor beneath the wall you are panelling to protect your flooring.

Step 2: Apply to the wall

With your Caulking Gun, apply a snaking line of Adhesive to the back of the panel and adhere it to the wall. Make sure to use a Spirit Level to make sure that it is straight. Then apply pressure as you push the panel board firmly to the wall. If you have multiple panels to put up, repeat this step until all of your panelling is on the wall. We suggest going from left to right.

Step 3: Caulk

Using the Caulking Gun, apply Caulk to the edges of your panels to fill any gaps. If your wall is not completely straight, you may find that your panelling seems to come away from the wall slightly, so caulk can act as a paintable filler. Use a Filling Knife to smooth the Caulk out and wait for it all to dry.

Step 4: Prime and paint

If you have chosen for us to pre-prime your panelling, then now it is ready for you to paint. If not, you will now need to prime your panelling yourself and wait for it to dry before you then paint it. Once everything is dry. You are free to clean up and enjoy your new panelling!

I wish that I had known about this service before, I have often had requirements for small ready made panels. This company just fitted the bill. Yes i could have easily cut and edged the panel myself but being so busy just nice to place the trust in someone to make exactly as expected and deliver with out fuss. A definite recommendation for the future.

Ian Watts,

The board was well cut to the correct size. However the tape around the edges and corners (whose purpose I don't know) was such a pain to get off, and the board was dirty and required cleaning before use.

Davy Ker,

Good quality and cut precisely as asked. Packaged really well

I ordered 2 bespoke sized cupboard doors to replace some old ones on a built in cupboard in the bedroom. The ordering was really easy on the website and the doors were delivered when they said they would be and really well packaged. They are a great quality and now painted and hung they look great. Going to order more for my other bedroom cupboard that needs updating. Would highly recommended this company as their quality and efficiency are great!

Kay Roome,

Easy to use website if you need regular shape. I needed a trapezium which although on the site I had to put the measurements in upside down, which was a little strange for a greenhouse pane.

Valerie,

This is a great company and have used them a number of times. The finish of wood is much better than other companies and super fast delivery. Thicker laminate than others with attention to detail on edges. Great communication.... However, on my last order 2 cutouts were missed. A new order was placed, free of charge, and when it arrived, 2 cutouts missing! I gave up and cut the wood myself. It was no doubt a genuine mistake and I would use the company in the future.

Stephen Bird,

Good quick service. Accurately cut and perfect fit

Mr Derek Lawson,

Great product and fast delivery

Miss Purcell,

Initially part of the order was undercut to the extent that I could not make use of it. These things happen. When they do it is the measure of a supplier as to how they resolve the situation; no matter the size of order. In this regard CutMy has proved a rare find; a company I would happily engage with again. Thank you.

RC Baxter,

4mm acrylic panels cut to size, well packed and delivered quickly - have used again

Martin F,

Absolutely outstanding. I ordered a new piece of flexi glass for my greenhouse, at the end of last week, and it was delivered today, fantastic service, and perfect. The last time I needed a repair like this I used another supplier, and it took weeks! Life saving for all my small seedlings at this time of the year. Thoroughly recommend.

Fast & efficient

J M,

Fast cutting, and delivery, of small bespoke bits of hexagrip board cut to size for my project - what a fantastic service!

PeterP,

Easy to order, much easier than going to a DIY superstore. Helpful staff when I messed up and put collection instead of delivery.

Nancy,

Did the job. Two Orders 1 or 2wks apart. But when ordering, I did not 'appreciate' I'd have to specify grain direction of the external faces. Both Orders arrived with grain in wrong direction in the rectangles I ordered. This was extremely disappointing. Frankly, this should not happen. It's a cheat. You know ALL customers ordering plywood rectangles expect grain to follow the rectangles greatest dimension...the length, not the width.

Lindsay Turner,

great product bang on time

russell Jones m25 2qg,

Richard,

Good competitive price and all panels ordered were exact to size and good quality. All delivered on time well packaged. The adhesive purchased to fix the panels proved to be difficult as it exited the tube in blobs so i ended up using double sided adhesive tape.

Mr ALAN MACMILLAN,

I got exactly what I ordered!

Anon,

Having checked out a handful of different companies regarding the purchase of 2 clear acrylic sheets to replace old, cracked, discoloured sheets, we decided on CutMy. Their customer service was second to none and the patience shown by Molly and the rest of the team as I bumbled my way through my requirements was admirable! Every detail of the order was checked and agreed upon before the order was finalised. The order duly arrived and I was very impressed by the quality of the acrylic sheets and the accuracy of the drilled holes. Screwing the sheets in place was a doddle and the finished result has exceeded expectantion. I can highly recommend CutMy for their products, customer service and competative prices.

Gwenda Williams,

Great service. I needed some Perspex to replace the ones that had gone yellow in my outdoor lights. Easy guide to measuring and ordering was quick and easy with quick delivery. My lights look now like new.

Patricia Corner,

I wanted to add some shelves for extra storage in my shed but didn’t have the tools or confidence to cut a large sheet accurately down to size. Once I had measured then double & triple-checked I was able to choose the wood type and grade and enter the measurements for each piece. (The website is pretty simple to use and navigate). The plywood was delivered in good time and well-packaged to help prevent damage. Am pleased to say each shelf fitted perfectly and with minimal fuss. This service is definitely worth the price and saves so much time. Highly recommnded.

Steven Schooling,

DAVID COULSON,

Great attention to detail and speed of delivery Custom cuts were made simple and really delighted with quick turn around, communication, speed of order to delivery and quality of product

Flat 6,

A great product that makes it easy to update your space. Unfortunately, my order was damaged in transit, but customer service is excellent, and a replacement was dispatched. I've only given 4 stars as the original delivery was within London and subject to a different delivery provider, it's not clear when you buy that it means a delay and when you do get a date it's 9-5pm, when most delivery companies can now give a 1-2 hour window

Simon,

Excellent product with very prompt delivery

Amazing customer service. Initial order arrived with largest piece damaged, but almost certainly due to delivery company as the packaging was excellent. Received replacement piece within one week.

Martin Poole,

Very quick service, fits perfectly, thank you.

Zoe,

Lovely items and delivered in great time

K Brown,

Very quick delivery! Unfortunately the 1st product was slightly damaged. I sent an email explaining that id only just opened the package, even though it was delivered a few dsys before. T.B.H I was expecting to have to pay for the replacement at that point. But they sent out a replacement f.o.c, very quickly with an opology. Couldn't fault their customer service. Would highly recommend.

Mathew Wyles,

Used Cut My for the first time and was very pleased with the service. I only had a small order but found the website easy to order the steel I required from a very large selection on offer, it was cut exactly to the ordered size and arrived well packaged and quickly. The cost was reasonable considering the cutting and was still cheaper than geting 'locally' (which I usually try and do, but in this case because of what I required, it was not available) by the time I would have factored in mileage and time, etc. Would recommend.

Mr Grant,

Very easy to order and results were perfect

GILES SARSON,

Great company. Just what was needed!

Theresa,

Really good. We did have a problem with the order, but they helped us out immediately and everything was sorted, so I couldn't be happier and I will be back. Also, the packing was spot on and very well done and it was delivered in good time.

Great product, cut exactly to size. Delivery could be a bit faster but happy that the product arrived well packed and perfect. Overall a very good site to buy cut to size goods. I will use it again.

Virginia Mergl,

Really easy to order quick and great service Really pleased with the quality of the product would recommend

Lorraine Boardman,

It was all very easy to place an order with Cut My, I needed Air Conditioning Covers, the order was delivered on time and all cut to size perfectly.

What can I say? Exactly what I asked for, delivered quickly at a good price. Definitely use again.

Great product, easy to select size, style hole placement etc. and arrived safely too.

Colin Glover,

Great service. I just needed 2 extra shelves for my kitchen cupboards. they arrived very quickly and fit the spaces perfectly.

Needed a protective top for a piece of furniture I had upcycled. I googled and came across CutMy, it was so straightforward the hardest part was measuring my table top, ordered and 2 days later it arrived. Couldn’t be happier!! For a year I have been sanding and repainting the top as I thought getting a glass top would be too expensive. So amazed when I saw cutmy do glass look acrylic and the price is sooo reasonable. Couldn’t be happier! Looking for my next project so will definitely be ordering another sheet again soon. (Wish I could attach a photo)

Lucy Whitlock,

I found the exact material I was searching for.v IE 4mm thick acrylic. It was cut to the size I required and facilitated repair

WB,

Very good product

Mr Craig Archer,

A bit slow in leaving factory and getting to us but nice skirting and architrave. Just allow two to three weeks so order early...

Kevin Andrews,

Order as expected. Second order and I am very impressed. Highly recommend.

Judd,

It was a good experience overall. The price was good compared to other companies, and the delivery was good too. However, the edges of the 5 cm-thick Perspex were a little sharp, so I had to use a file to smooth them down. Apart from that, I was happy with the service.

Lamia Ibrahim,

The driver was punctual. We ran into a protest at Genoa airport closing the approach road. However the driver found the pedestrian access and did his best to explain what was happening in spite of language problems. I would recommend him.

David Wiggs,

resonable price, timely delivery, good quality
