Details
Garden mirrors are becoming popular in all types of homes, with garden designers beginning to use mirrors for both practical and artistic reasons. From increasing the illusion of space to creating more light in shadowy areas, the possibilities for what a mirror can do in a garden is only limited by your imagination.
Many city gardeners have a problem getting enough light into their gardens; it may be that there's only sunlight for a limited time or the sun might only shine in a part of the garden where it isn’t possible to take advantage of it. To get the most out of the light that falls in a small space, and to make it feel much bigger, garden designers are often choosing to fit mirrors in their gardens.
Once ordered to measurement and specification, when professionally and correctly fitted to the wall, you will get the same clear reflective surface that you would with glass. We do recommend that if you intend on getting the mirror to look flat, that it is backed on a strong surface, such as our 18mm MDF and for any mirrors larger than one metre squared, that the mirrored acrylic is ordered in 5mm.
If you have children and pets that play in the garden, garden mirrors are also a safer, decorative and practical option when compared to traditional glass mirrors.
Outdoor mirrored acrylic is shatter-resistant, lightweight and flexible, making it the perfect solution to traditionally heavy glass mirrors. It doesn’t matter if the kids are kicking balls around or throwing sticks for the dog, the safety of acrylic garden mirrors can’t be overstated when compared with glass.
On top of this, mirrored Perspex® is easy to fabricate and can be cut by us, drilled and shaped to any requirements, so becomes a flexible material to work with.
Key Features
Versatile
With shatter-resistant properties, our garden mirrored Perspex® sheets have 10 times the impact resistance compared to traditional mirrors. Due to their strong durability, the garden mirrors also make a great addition outside of the home, such as in a stable, or gym.
Inexpensive
Our mirrored acrylic offers the same clear reflection and provides better durability making it perfect for gardens, as well as home gym mirrors or dance studio mirrors at the same price of glass, making them a cheap mirror relative to their durability and longevity.
Maintainable
Keeping your acrylic garden mirrors clean and hygienic is just as easy to maintain as a glass mirror. All that is required is warm soapy water and a microfibre cloth. If your acrylic sheet does get scratched, using VuPlex polish as per its instructions will buff out any scratches and restore the mirrored reflection.
Lightweight
Garden mirror Perspex® sheets weigh half as much as an equivalent glass mirror, making installation, transportation, and handling an easier, and more attractive option. In addition to its shatter-resistant properties, it is a safer mirror to have around children and/or pet-friendly homes.
Weather Resistant
With both UV and weather resistance, our mirrored Perspex® sheets can withstand the most severe of weather conditions, making them fantastic alternatives to glass mirrors outdoors whether in the garden or as a feature in stables. As such, acrylic garden mirrors are fantastic ways to create the illusion of a larger garden.
Malleable
Our mirrored Perspex® is easy to fabricate and can be cut by us, drilled and shaped to any requirements, so it’s a flexible material to work with.
