Aluminium Composite Panels
Aluminium composite (also known as Alupanel) panels are a high-quality sheet material providing a stable background for photo mounting, screen printing and vinyl applications, and combine two materials in one panel – a polythene core and a 0.3mm aluminium polyester varnish. The combination of aluminium and the polythene core creates a practical and lightweight material that is malleable, yet stable in all weather conditions and can be easily fabricated to create a range of 2D and 3D designs.
Also known by the brand name Dibond, aluminium composite panels are a perfect solution for creating long-lasting, eye-catching signage, cladding or splashbacks that are guaranteed to gain attention. Aluminium composite sheets are resistant to weather, impact, and corrosion, making them perfect for continuous outdoor use and in interior design, advertising, partitioning, or exhibition stands.
Providing great thermal insulation and brilliant machinability, aluminium composite sheets are also an incredibly strong product that offers great impact resistance. Coupled with its dimensional stability, aluminium composite sheets exhibit limited expansion and contraction even under extreme temperatures.
With our cutting-edge technology, we can precisely tailor your aluminium composite sheets to your desired dimensions. Simply measure the areas where you intend on installing the sheet and we will deliver a perfectly cut flat sheet that aligns with your measurements and customisations. For added versatility, we can accommodate cutouts to seamlessly fit around plug sockets and light switches. Additionally, if you prefer to secure the sheet to the wall using nails, we can offer drilled holes.
ALUPANEL®
This formable panel is ideal for environments that experience high wear and tear. It features two sides - one with a satin finish and the other with a 75% gloss finish. The aluminium composite surface is smooth and flat, making it perfect for screen and digital printing, as well as vinyl lamination. This provides a clear and vibrant sign that effectively promotes your business or service.
ALUPANEL® Mirror
ALUPANEL® Mirror offers a highly impressive mirrored finish. Unlike traditional glass mirrors, it is completely shatter-resistant, making it a much safer option. It is also half the weight of a glass mirror, which makes it incredibly easy to install and therefore perfect for use as a kitchen splashback. However, it is important to note that the Alupanel Mirror finishes are only guaranteed for internal use.
Brushed Aluminium Composite
We offer a fantastic range of metallic brushed finishes in five different colours. Frequently Asked Questions
What is Dibond?
Dibond is the brand name of our excellent lightweight brushed aluminium composite sheeting. Other common names include Dilite, Dibond Digital and Raybond. With a flexible polyethylene core, the aluminium composite is rigid and durable.
What is the difference between Dibond and Alupanel?
Alupanel is another brand of aluminium composite sheeting. Alupanel is also the only form of this sheeting manufactured in the UK. All of the aluminium composite panels we sell at Cut My are Alupanel.
Can aluminium composite panels be used outside?
Composited of acrylic and metal, this form of sheeting is completely rustproof, waterproof, chemically resistant and will be long-lasting outside.
Can you bend aluminium composite?
The aluminium composite panel is a very flexible material. As such it is possible for you to bend an aluminium composite panel, but it requires special tools. Therefore, safety procedures must be followed and you must have the correct tools. Alternatively, contact us prior to ordering and we can fabricate the sheeting for your specifications.
Can you print on Dibond?
Yes. Dibond can be printed on.
How long does Dibond last?
You can expect your Dibond sheets to last five years if placed outdoors, and up to 10 if placed indoors making them one of the most durable versatile materials available.
How do I cut my Dibond?
We are able to cut your Dibond sheets for you, however, if you want to cut Dibond yourself, you will need a saw blade for metal or hardwood. You should also use an effective means to remove chips, such as a blowgun as well as wear protective gear for your eyes, breathing and hearing.
Is Dibond flammable?
Due to the core that makes up the aluminium composition, Dibond is considered fire retardant so is safe to have around fire.
