Cherry Veneered MDF Details
Our crown-cut real cherry veneered MDF adds an elegant finish to standard MDF with a smooth, uniform wood grain. The reddish-brown cherry wood sourced from North America often contains attractive black deposits and small knots. When exposed to light, the wood takes on a warmer, weathered tone.
Crafted with care, cherry-veneered MDF exhibits distinct natural variations, ensuring its uniqueness. From its array of shades and colours to its textured surface and intricate knots, it mirrors natural wood. While no two pieces may be exactly alike, the warmth and charm of cherry wood brings a timeless appeal to any setting.
The veneer is high-quality cherry wood bonded to an 18mm MDF board. It is sliced at a right angle to produce the iconic cherry grain pattern. This elegant tone resembles the look of quality cherry plywood but at a more affordable price point.
Extremely versatile, our 19mm cherry veneered MDF suits furniture, kitchen door and drawer fronts, wall shelving, mouldings and surrounds and it is also easy to stain or paint with additional veneers or laminates. We also offer lacquering on all of our veneered MDF sheets in either a matt or gloss finish for extra protection and sheen.
We customize cherry-veneered MDF to any size or spec with our CNC machine. We can provide custom cutouts, drilled holes and edge banding as additional options to make your installation project easier for you.
Our MDF contains fibres from sustainable sources like thinnings, recycled wood and sawdust. The cherry veneer provides a clean, decorative solid cherry look while retaining the strength and stability of the MDF core. Our suppliers are FSC and PEFC certified.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is cherry veneered MDF?
Cherry veneered MDF is created by bonding thin sheets of real cherry wood veneer to standard MDF. This provides the look of cherry wood while retaining the strength and stability of the MDF core.
Is cherry veneer good quality?
Yes, our cherry veneers are made from high-quality, durable cherry wood. The veneers give the look of solid cherry at a lower cost than solid boards. Cherry veneered MDF is an inexpensive, high quality option for furniture.
Can you paint cherry veneered MDF?
Yes, if the veneer surface is in good condition. Lightly sand, prime, and paint just like you would any other furniture. If the veneer is damaged, repair it before painting.
Is solid cherry better than cherry veneer?
Solid cherry can last generations with proper craftsmanship. However, cherry veneered MDF is also very durable and more affordable. It provides a great look at a lower cost.
Can you remove cherry veneer from MDF?
Removing veneer can damage the MDF underneath, so we don't recommend it. Make sure veneered MDF is right for your project before ordering.
How do you protect cherry veneered MDF?
