We offer a range of MDF sheeting varieties which we can cut to any size or shape using our CNC router, delivering a high level of precision and repeatability. Whatever shape you need, we can create it – just send us your drawings, in either CAD format or a sketch, when you place your order and we can cut it to size for you. In addition to cutting any shape or curve, our CNC router can be used for rebating, pocketing and hole cutting on MDF sheets, as well as virtually any other sheet material. There’s also the option to make use of our laser cutting and CNC engraving services and add mitred edges to your MDF sheets.
Using state-of-the-art UV printers, we have the capability to print full sheets of MDF in one go, providing a consistent finish at a much faster rate than painting. We currently only list 8x4 sheets (2440x1220mm) but we’re able to purchase and cut sheets of up to 2000x3000mm, so contact our team today to talk through your individual requirements. We offer the choice of next day delivery if you are working to a tight deadline and, for larger orders, we have our own transport service which operates throughout most of the UK. If you have an ongoing project taking place, get in contact with us to discuss bulk discounts and regular supply orders.
22mm MDF sheets are the perfect material to use in applications where you require a stable and durable material that’s also relatively lightweight and affordable. MDF is produced by combining hard and soft wood chippings and recycled offcuts with resins to create sheets that are immensely popular in a host of industries. This material can be used for cabinets and wardrobes through to bar and shop fitting, providing excellent versatility.
Types of 22mm MDF Uses
There are different varieties of MDF with distinctive properties, depending on the application you’re using it for.
- Moisture resistant MDF can be used in areas of homes or businesses where moisture or humidity is an issue, such as bathrooms, kitchens or storage areas.
- Premier-grade MDF sheeting is a high-quality material that makes use of superior wood refining technology and high-grade resins for greater consistency both in terms of thickness and quality. This form of MDF is best-suited to furniture, toys or cabinetry, delivering a reliable and uniform result.
- Fire retardant MDF is commonly used in schools, hospitals, offices or cinemas and can provide up to 60 minutes of fire protection when used in applications such as doors, kick plates or partitions.
Advantages of 22mm MDF Sheets
MDF sheets are a popular material to work with for a host of different projects and applications, as it is versatile and affordable. MDF can be cut down to size quickly and easily using standard DIY tools, so it’s perfect for DIY projects around the home, as well as being easy to install or fix into place using glues, nails or screws – at 22mm thick, this particular thickness of MDF is better suited to the latter in order to provide a secure installation. MDF can also be used to great effect with laminates and veneers as it provides a smooth surface for a professional finish. MDF is a material designed for use in interior applications and providing it doesn’t make any direct contact with water, it will deliver a durable result for many years to come. The term MDF is a generic term that refers simply to the type of wood and not a specific product – there are, in fact, several types of MDF to choose from that can be used in different environments to make the best use of their individual properties. We also offer 18mm MDF and 15mm MDF.
Applications of 22m MDF Sheets
22mm MDF is a thicker variety of MDF and therefore is best suited to applications where the stability and durability of the wood is of paramount importance. MDF can be used in a number of ways, from wardrobes and furniture to shopfitting, bars and shelving. It is a popular choice for commercial settings as it’s cost-effective while also being long-lasting.
