Frequently Asked Questions

What types of projects typically use 20mm acrylic?

20mm acrylic is often used for large structural applications where maximum rigidity is needed, such as awards, room dividers, countertops, display cases, machine guards, and thick aquariums.

What size 20mm acrylic sheets are available?

We stock 20mm clear acrylic sheets up to 3000mm x 2000mm.

Does 20mm acrylic become flexible or sag over time?

No, 20mm extruded acrylic maintains its rigidity and shape indefinitely. The thicker material resists bowing, bending and flexing much better than thinner acrylic.

What is the light transmission of 20mm clear acrylic?

Our 20mm clear acrylic provides approximately 90% light transmission with minimal haze or distortion.

Used this to replace a mirror in an antique dresser. Looks the part. Obviously not beveled like the original glass but is now a fully functioning swivel mirror.

Lorraine,

I needed 4 additional shelves for a project I was working on. I found the website very easy to use to find the product I needed, then input the sizes and quantity. The order arrived securely packed and on time. Unfortunately one of the shelves had been cut to the wrong size. I contact Customer Services and sent through details of the error with photographs to show the fault. This was responded to by a member of their CS team who accepted the issue and had arranged for a new shelf to be sent through in a few days. This one arrived well packed again and as per my order. Nobody is perfect and errors can occur but I cannot fault the Customer Service in contacting me after the problem was reported, discussed my order and arrangements made to replace the faulty item.

Amazing service right from the very start, and all the way through. I initially made an error with the thickness request of my wood ( I know, that sounds terrible 🤣 ) but it was promptly cancelled and a new order put in. It was cut and sent out Friday, after ordering Thursday, and delivered perfectly on Monday. Brilliant delivery company too, that I'd never heard of before. 5 stars all the way. Customer service, the completed work, and the whole overall job. Thank you. 5 stars with ease.

Stacey Davies,

Years ago I designed and built my own workstation using MDF I bought in sheets and cut, primed and painted myself. It took me several days and was a lot of work. I needed to make some enhancements and found this service, which made life a LOT easier. They quickly fulfilled my order, to the exact specifications I asked for, including cutouts. All I had to do was paint and drill fixing holes. Great service, would use again!

My experience of their work and service was nothing short of excellent and I would have no hesitation in using them again AND have no reservations is recommending them.

b hodgson,

Very good experience with Cutmy! Delivery was smooth and quick, and customer service was very responsive and kind. It is a bit pricier when you have pieces cut out to the shape you want but if you don't have the right tools or skills to do it yourself, it's very practical. One thing I was a bit sad about was not being to order a larger piece of pre-cut MDF for my larger understairs storage door (1500mm high on the highest side). I ended up cutting it myself and managed ok nonetheless.

Debra,

Brill! Plexiglass (Acrylic) looks just like glass and is surprisingly a fair weight per pane (about 1.5kg?). My initial fear is it would be very light, and would need extra clips to stay in, to survive the wind. Not so! Just remember to pull off the blue protective covering on BOTH sides!

Alexander Stewart,

The shelf was cut and supplied well packaged and quickly, it is good quality. However the only annoying factor was there were black marks on both faces, it took some cleaning with chemicals but came up ok in the end.

Nigel Brazendale,

Cut My are very responsive and are a trusted seller and their customer service is brilliant!

Neil Bell,

Glass fitted well and provided a good replacement for our shed.

Diy,

Good products happy customer

George E,

Item received was the exact dimensions and colour. No complaints.

It wasn’t a big job! No furniture, No wardrobes, it was three pieces that were very small, but they had to be spot on, not 1 mm out. And they did a brilliant job at a fare price, saved me a lot of grief, delivery was ok too! So whats not to like, I will certainly use again. Thanks
