With their minimalist design and ability to create an illusion of floating on the wall, our shelves are a versatile and stylish addition to any room. Discover the art of modern storage and showcase your cherished items with our exceptional array of floating shelves.

Constructed from a medite MDF core, these should show no signs of warping. Our white option is melamine board so has a slight sheen and superb waterproof properties. Our black floating shelves are professionally primed and painted in hardwearing paint for a perfectly smooth and relatively matte finish. The walnut and oak floating shelves are made from walnut veneered MDF and oak veneered MDF, respectively. They are then finished with a semi-sheen lacquer. If you prefer to have them unfinished, please contact us and we can accommodate.

These use near-invisible brackets that slot inside the shelf itself so as to allow the shelf board itself to be the only visible component. With a wide variety of colours and finishes, our floating shelves can be used in all sorts of environments to match a wide breadth of decor environments.

Looking to complete the look? You can pair a number of our shelves with our wall panelling, or paint both to match with paintable floating shelves.

Floating Shelf Brackets

We supply floating shelf brackets with our floating shelves and these are also available separately. These do not come with screws as you will need to determine what type of screws are most suitable for your wall material. As there are multiple types of floating brackets, you are required to choose the one most suitable for your wall material on the product building for the shelf.

The number of brackets provided will vary depending on the width of your shelf. The shelf depth minimum and maximum dimensions are determined by the floating shelf bracket length. If you require a particular size that isn’t available, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will see what we can do to assist you.

Can floating shelves hold a lot of weight?

The weight capacity of floating shelves can vary depending on several factors, including the materials used, the installation method, and the structural integrity of the wall. While it is difficult to provide an exact weight limit without specific details, floating shelves are typically designed to support moderate to heavy loads.

To hold the most weight we recommend fixing to a masonry wall with adjustable plate brackets and at least 50mm screws and wall plugs. It will hold considerably less weight if fixed to a plasterboard wall or studs.

Easy to order and get to choose lengths, direction of grain, edging and lacquering. They look fantastic and seem sturdy. Quite fast - maybe a week or two. I would say order the actual size you want as I think they did a tiny bit lower anyway so when I went 0.5cm less it was a bit too loose. Overall I’m really happy with them. Maybe would prefer slightly less confusing pricing at the start as looks like it will be a lot cheaper but then obviously depends on size and finish. I would prefer to have a bit more of a guide from the outset.

Ordered some melamine coated boards to make a desk from. Arrived well packed and accurately cut. Only slight complaint is delivery company that’s used is a pain to deal with. Rearranged delivery for Monday because I knew we wouldn’t be in. Arrived on Friday anyway and driver left £200 with of wood out in the rain fully visible on the driveway. Luckily next door Neighbour saw it and brought it in for me. Other than that all good.

For as long as you can measure accurately then there is nothing to worry about regarding the assembly and delivery of the panelling kits. Take some time to set out the parts before assembly and all will be well. Be prepared to make adjustments for Wall power sockets, TV points etc so theirs may not be the final cut. Do not scrimp on adhesive quality - I used solvent free gripfill. This is white and easy to work with when dry. Using the primed MDF helped but you still have un-primed areas where the cuts were made. In summery, seeing as we have done 2 projects with cutmy.co.uk - well worth considering.
