Secondary Glazing

For rigidity and ease of installation, it's important to choose the correct acrylic thickness and magnetic tape size for your secondary glazing.

We recommend using 4mm acrylic for most windows as it is the best all-rounder for rigidity, durability, and noise reduction.

When installing ensure there is an air gap between the window and the secondary glazing acrylic, the larger the air gap, the better the insulation and noise reduction.

For the best results in noise reduction, opt for thicker acrylic.

We do not recommend using 2mm acrylic for secondary glazing as it is too flexible and breaks easily.

We can cut to any shape you require.

For designs that our on-site tool can’t create, clearly mark on a diagram:

• Lengths of all sides (in millimetres)
• Radius of all corners
• Angles of all corners
• For 90-degree angles, simply square off the corner. Other angles should be shown with a circular segment and exact measurement.
• Annotations of edges requiring edge-banding or polishing
