Mild Steel T-Sections Applications

  • Structural framing: T sections are often used as structural members for framing in buildings, sheds, canopies and shelters. Their cross-section provides good strength and rigidity for spanning or load bearing.
  • Door/Window frames: The perpendicular flange on a T section makes an ideal stopping/attachment point for door or window frames. The web adds stiffness to prevent flexing.
  • Furniture: For table legs, chair frames, shelves, and cabinetry, T sections provide lightweight support and right-angled corners suited to furniture.
  • Railings and safety barriers: T sections are easily welded or bolted to create railings, guard rails and safety barriers around equipment, platforms, walkways or processes.
  • Vehicles/trailers: For non-critical vehicle parts like bumpers, frames, and hitches, T sections offer good impact resistance. They are also useful for trailer frames.
  • Brackets: Brackets for machinery, shelving, signs and other applications can be fabricated from T sections welded or bolted at the desired angles.
  • Tow bars: For DIY tow bars, T sections allow flat mounting plates to be welded on while providing the strength to tow.
  • Bicycle/motorcycle frames: Custom bicycle or motorcycle frames can be constructed using T-section tubes for a unique look and structural rigidity.
  • Decorative accents: T sections can provide nice decorative accents in things like partitions, dividers, wall cladding or artistic structures.
