Our EN10025 S275JR mild steel square bars are hot-rolled steel profiles with a versatile square solid cross-section that provides consistent strength and durability for general construction applications. These square bars come in sizes ranging from 10mm to 40mm and in lengths up to 5 meters that can be custom cut to your specifications free of charge.

Please note: Our mild steel products come with a mill finish, meaning they are in their raw, unfinished state with a rough, matte surface. There may be rust and they are likely to have sharp, rough edges when cut.

Mild Steel Square Bar Applications

Construction:

  • Structural framework for buildings, especially in the construction of steel frames for residential, commercial, and industrial structures. We suggest using 20mm - 40mm bars depending on the size and load-bearing requirements of the structure.
  • Reinforcement bars for concrete structures, provide additional strength and support. The thickness should depend on the scale and specifications of the project.

Manufacturing and Fabrication:

  • Fabrication of gates, fences, and railings for both residential and commercial properties. For residential applications, 12mm - 25mm should be ideal. For commercial or industrial purposes you may need a larger thickness of 20mm - 40mm.
  • Manufacturing of machinery components such as shafts, gears, and brackets. Use 16mm - 30mm thicknesses depending on the specific component and load requirements.
  • Fabrication of storage racks and shelves for warehouses and retail spaces. 10mm - 20mm for lighter-duty shelves, and 20mm - 40mm for heavy-duty racks.

Automotive:

  • Fabrication of chassis components, brackets, and supports in automotive manufacturing and repair. Chassis components tend to range from 20mm to 40mm depending on the type of vehicle and intended use.
  • Construction of roll cages for racing vehicles and off-road vehicles. 25mm - 40mm for racing vehicles and off-road applications.

Engineering:

  • Support structures for conveyor systems in factories and warehouses. 16mm - 30mm depending on the weight and size of the conveyed materials.
  • Construction of frames and supports for machinery and equipment in manufacturing facilities. For robust structures, use 20mm - 40mm thickness.

DIY Projects:

  • Crafting furniture pieces such as tables, chairs, and shelving units. We recommend 10mm - 20mm for smaller items like tables and chairs and 20mm - 30mm for larger pieces or heavy-duty applications.
  • Building custom storage solutions and organisers for home or garage use. Depending on the weight and size of the items being stored, we would suggest lower thicknesses in our range of 10mm - 25mm.
  • For art and sculpture marking. Thickness may vary widely depending on the artistic vision and structural requirements of the sculpture, ranging from 10mm for delicate pieces to 40mm for larger installations.

Agriculture:

  • Construction of farm equipment and machinery components such as ploughs, cultivators, and harrows. 20mm - 40mm depending on the specific equipment and load requirements.
  • Fabrication of fencing and livestock enclosures. 12mm - 25mm depending on the size of the area and type of livestock.

Marine Applications:

We would suggest thicker square bars for this, ranging from 20mm to 40mm for extra durability.

  • Manufacturing of boat trailers and marine hardware.
  • Construction of dock frames and supports.
