Our mild steel channel sections are durable and versatile structural steel profiles ideal for a wide range of applications. These U-shaped channels feature 90-degree internal angles with equal-sized flanges.

Our channels are hot-rolled from mild steel and available in a range of standard sizes to suit your project requirements, all available cut to size, free of charge. Order today or contact us for custom channel dimensions to suit your needs.

Please note: Our mild steel products come with a mill finish, meaning they are in their raw, unfinished state with a rough, matte surface. There may be rust and they are likely to have sharp, rough edges when cut.

Mild Steel Channel Section Applications

  • Framing & Support Structures: The 10kg, 15kg, and 18kg sizes work well for structural framing in buildings, platforms, catwalks, and supports. The channel shape provides good span strength.
  • Truck/Trailer Beds: For fabricating truck or trailer beds, channels in the 15-26kg range make durable side/cross members to attach decking.
  • Conveyor Systems: Channels are commonly used as side rails and support in conveyor systems. 18kg or 24kg sizes can handle heavy loads.
  • Crane & Hoist Beams: For overhead cranes and hoists, large 25+kg channels are often used as beams to handle multi-ton loads.
  • Brackets & Bracing: Channels make sturdy brackets for shelves, signs, railings and equipment. 10-15kg sizes work for most. They also brace frames against lateral loads.
  • Robots & Machinery: Robotic arms and pick/place machinery utilise channel sections as strong structural supports. 15kg and up work well.
  • Truck/Tractor Hitches: For DIY truck hitches, the 18-26kg channel makes a sturdy hitch tongue and resists wear over time.
  • Bicycle Trailers: Lightweight bicycle trailers and cargo carriers can be built using 6.7-10kg channels for the main frame.
