Our 4mm birch plywood craft packs are a premium choice for makers who want a natural wood finish with real character. With smooth face veneers, a pale natural grain and clean-cut edges, BB/BB grade birch ply is a favourite among laser crafters, wood burners, model makers and designers. Available as A5 sheets, 100mm squares and 100mm diameter discs, in singles or 5-packs.
Birch plywood is prized in the making community for its attractive natural grain and its compatibility with a wide range of tools and techniques. It's one of the most popular materials for laser cutting and wood burning thanks to its smooth, pale surface — but it's equally at home being painted, stained, drilled or hand-cut. Popular uses include laser-engraved personalised gifts, wood-burned artwork, jewellery and accessories, model making, rustic event décor, coasters and keyrings.
Why birch plywood?
Not all plywood is the same. Our birch plywood craft packs use genuine BB/BB grade birch ply — known for its fine, consistent grain, smooth face veneers and minimal knots or voids. It's a significant step up from poplar-core ply and gives noticeably cleaner results whether you're laser cutting, painting or engraving.

Working with birch plywood
Birch ply can be cut with a craft knife, scroll saw, jigsaw or laser cutter. Paint, stain or varnish can be applied directly to the surface without priming. For items that will be handled regularly, finish with a clear lacquer or varnish for added durability.

Replacement shelving
Installed rack shelving in my garage which came with MDF shelves. A year later the MDF was covered in mould and had to be replaced. After much head scratching regards a replacement for the MDF decided to give acrylic plastic sheet a try. Not a cheap option but found Cut/my the best value. Ordered one 3mm clear sheet at first (the hefty delivery charge was annoying!). Was concerned whether 3mm would be strong enough but it worked really well leaving no concerns over strength. I ordered the remaining 9 sheets to complete my shelving which arrived very quickly. Really pleased with these panels and, a bonus, my small shed is much lighter having removed the dark MDF. Would highly recommend for any similar project.
