Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of Shinnoki veneered boards?
Shinnoki boards give you the natural beauty of real wood veneer with none of the hassle. Each panel is pre-finished with a durable matt lacquer, so there’s no sanding, staining, or varnishing needed. They’re consistent in colour, easy to cut, and designed for fast, professional-looking results in any project.
What projects are Shinnoki boards suitable for?
They’re ideal for kitchens, wardrobes, shelving, wall panelling, media units, home offices, and bespoke furniture. Because the boards are pre-finished, they work especially well for DIY projects and quick upgrades where you want a high-end look with minimal effort.
Can Shinnoki be cut, drilled, and fabricated like normal MDF?
Yes. Shinnoki boards have an MDF core, so they can be cut, drilled, and routed with standard woodworking tools. We recommend using sharp blades and clean bits to achieve the best finish and to avoid damaging the veneer layer.
Do I need to finish Shinnoki boards?
No. That’s one of the main advantages. Shinnoki boards arrive pre-finished with a matt lacquer, meaning they’re ready to use as soon as they’re delivered. You don’t need to apply any extra oil, stain, or varnish.
How should I clean and maintain Shinnoki boards?
Simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth or mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemical cleaners, as these may dull the matt finish over time. With normal care, your boards will stay looking fresh for years.
Are Shinnoki boards environmentally friendly?
Yes. Shinnoki boards are made with sustainable wood from responsibly managed forests and finished with low-VOC lacquers, making them a sustainable choice for your projects.
Do Shinnoki boards come with edging?
Edging is optional and must be selected in the product configuration within Edge Banding. You can choose a matching or contrasting edge.
Do colours look the same in real life as on screen?
While we do our best to show accurate images, colours may look slightly different on screens. We recommend ordering a sample before committing to a full board, so you can see the true colour and texture in your own space.
Can I use Shinnoki Boards in wet environments or outdoors?
Shinnoki panels are designed for indoor use. They can be fitted both vertically (like wall panelling or doors) and horizontally (like shelves or worktops). However, we don’t recommend using them horizontally in kitchens, bathrooms, or other humid spaces, as moisture could affect the finish over time.
