Splashbacks Behind a Hob

It is not recommended to use a Perspex® acrylic (Gloss and Matt and Painted Splashbacks) or an Aluminium Composite Splashback behind open heat sources, such as a cooker. These materials can only tolerate temperatures of up to 80°C before discolouring and warping. Therefore, it is advised not to fit acrylic or aluminium composite splashbacks behind an electric or gas hob. However, if you have an induction hob, you may place our Matt, Gloss and Painted Splashbacks behind it with a 50mm gap between the panel and the hob. Alternatively, for an aluminium composite splashback, a 150mm gap between the panel and hob is recommended behind an induction hob.

Our toughened glass splashbacks are the most suitable option to fit behind a heat source as they have high heat resistance.

Ordered some black acrylic strips to cover unsightly gaps either side of my stainless steel and gloss black fridge/freezer. Ordering was simple, cost of the actual item was good but was bumped up by the minimum order value and high delivery costs (which I understand the need for and fully support). The strips were packaged extremely well and survived delivery in pristine condition. I was initially disappointed in the product as it looked quite dull and dirty …… I then realised it had a protective covering….. once that was removed the acrylic was exactly as pictured on the website. Will definitely be using CutMy again.

Needed to order an extra piece after submitting my order, but I would have to pay an extra S&H charge first just one piece, so after contacting customer service, I was emailed by Tanya, who didn’t work in customer service, but was as they were all busy, and she informed me to put my extra order in for collection, and that she would notify the warehouse that this extra piece was to be shipped with my existing order.
