Splashbacks Behind a Hob

It is not recommended to use a Perspex® acrylic (Gloss and Matt and Painted Splashbacks) or an Aluminium Composite Splashback behind open heat sources, such as a cooker. These materials can only tolerate temperatures of up to 80°C before discolouring and warping. Therefore, it is advised not to fit acrylic or aluminium composite splashbacks behind an electric or gas hob. However, if you have an induction hob, you may place our Matt, Gloss and Painted Splashbacks behind it with a 50mm gap between the panel and the hob. Alternatively, for an aluminium composite splashback, a 150mm gap between the panel and hob is recommended behind an induction hob.

Our toughened glass splashbacks are the most suitable option to fit behind a heat source as they have high heat resistance.

Protective Backing

Our brown gloss and matt acrylic splashbacks feature a backing layer of vinyl for a flawless finish. This protective backing conceals adhesive and evens out wall imperfections for a smooth, uniform look. The result? Easy installation with no uneven edges.

Please do not peel this off - you will know if it is the protective film as it will have a blue sticker on it stating that it shouldn't be peeled off.

Although there was a delay in delivery, it was caused by the courier, CutMy were really helpful in helping to sort it out. Otherwise all good. Website made it easy to order and they were swift in fulfilling it. As a goodwill gesture CutMy also refunded the delivery charge, even though it wasn't their fault.

My experience dealing with this company was excellent! I ordered an angular cut worktop. I thought it would arrive edged. Sadly I had missed this page out when I ordered. I messaged to ask the question as it was un usable without being finished. I received a reply showing where I should have ticked to request the edging. I followed up with a request asking how I order edging from them to match. The reply was no worries 4meters of edging is on its way to you. Wow what an amazing service!! Highly recommend!
