Chemical Resistance

Acrycast generally has a good resistance to water, alkaline agents, aqueous solutions of inorganic matter and even some diluted acids. Acrycast will absorb small amounts of water – this is not an issue unless you are then heating and forming the product as the quick release of the moisture can cause blistering. It is important that you store Acrycast according to the specified conditions (see general information section).

Please find below a table showing a list of chemicals that Acrycast has been tested against – clearly these tests have been done in the laboratory in controlled conditions and any minor variation can cause a change in the results. Therefore to ensure compatibility please test the products prior to production.

Key

0 = Not resistant – it dissolves, attacks, damaged the Acrycast so it loses its strength, clarity etc.

5 = Partial Resistance – there might be some slight staining, crazing or some swelling of the Acrycast. It will however retain its integral strength.

10 = Resistant – after sustained contact there may be a minimal amount of staining on the surface of the Acrycast.

This was an order to replace a broken pane in a greenhouse. The dimensions came from the manufacturer’s instructions and the piece supplied fitted exactly, so installing it was very simple. I did purchase 2 additional pieces in case any of the other panes break and, based on my experience to daye, I am confident that these will fit withoit difficultt. Very impressed.

Ordering was straight forward with an easy to use online tool to get a custom cut piece of mirrored acrylic. It was a replacement for the bathroom cabinet door in my motorhome which had cracked. The acrylic replacement looks identical to the original but is lighter and hopefully less likely to crack or break.

Sara Norwood,

The order I received from cut my was generally excellent. The items I ordered were cut exactly to my specifications with impressive tolerances and deliverd in only a few days. Normally I am a bit of a miser and will do everything I can myself when it comes to DIY. In this instance I was pushed for time and compared the difference in cost of ordering 9mm moisture resistant MDF and cutting it into panelling effect overlays on my table saw vs ordering everything pre cut to size on Cut My. Having installed all the panelling in one weekend I am glad I went with Cut My. The time it saved me to do 21m2 of panelling was well worth the extra cost over doing it all myself. The accuracy of the parts made the job a doddle, saving not only time but also frustration. The only issue I had were a couple of pieces were dinked on the corners in transit despite being well packed. I had to cut a few down anyway so this did not affect the job. I will definitely use them again!

My nine-year-old wanted to build his own model airport, and we weren’t quite sure where to start. We decided to begin by ordering some wood from CutMy.co.uk, and the whole process was really simple. I’ve never ordered anything like this before, but it was easy to order online and have the wood cut to the exact measurements we needed. It arrived in a reasonable time and was extremely well packaged. The wood is exactly what we needed for the project. We may have chosen a little too thick this time, but we’ll know what to order for next time. Thank you very much!

I'm extremely pleased with my experience with Cut My. I ordered several bespoke 18mm melamine MDF shelves in different dimensions for my kitchen cupboards, and the whole process was straightforward and efficient. The online ordering system makes it very easy to specify precise measurements and customisation requirements, including edge banding, which is particularly useful when ordering made-to-measure components. All the pieces arrived accurately cut, with a very good finish and matching edge banding as requested. The quality was exactly what I was hoping for, and everything fitted perfectly. I was also impressed with the packaging and delivery. The order was well protected, ensuring that all the pieces arrived safely and without damage. Overall, a very positive experience. Great product quality, accurate workmanship, competitive pricing and a convenient ordering process. I would definitely recommend Cut My to anyone looking for made-to-measure shelving and custom-cut materials. I'll certainly be using them again!

Order forms easy to use. plenty of information so excellent for a novices speedy service so all round very pleased however let down by delivery but as a delivery is by an outside company it should be those people that gets a bad review and not supplier of the goods. Dorota Ludynia,

Really accurate dimensions, great service

STEPHEN CHAPMAN,

I’m so happy with how our panelling looks. We had some issues trying to bond the picture rail and had to buy stronger glue. I’m not sure how safe it would be using the pva glue provided. Instructions do state that the picture rail is not load bearing yet all photographs show it with pictures and/or other ornaments which is misleading.

Charlene Smart,

There was a slight delay from the supplier but communication from this retailer was first class and the item was delivered very quickly as soon as it was available.

Mr Routen,

A quality 18 mm panel in a lovely colour. Delivered by DX on-time, however, the driver did not knock when it arrived even though we were in and lights were on and left it it propped against the wall next to the front door. This aside, I definitely buy from CutMy again.
